About our pet taxi

Full Fare Taxi Service

Customers can maximise their holiday time by organising us to collect (or drop home) their pets in our taxi. We paws on the following points:

  • We only collect (or drop) pets around 1 pm (to fit with the flow of our business).
  • We do not provide a ‘transport’ system for non-boarding pets.
  • The taxi service is not available on Public Holidays.
  • The price is calculated per km (see table below).
  • Is subject to availability

We no longer travel into Melbourne proper as costs are too unpredictable – but we can arrange, if there is availability, to meet on the Hume Freeway at:

  • the southbound Kalkallo fuel station (closer to Melbourne), or the
  • the northbound Tallarook fuel station (closer to Seymour)

We restrict longer taxi trips in the lead-up to, or immediately after, some of our peak period times as we have limited manpower to offer this service during particularly busy times.

Daycare Taxi Run – Shepparton & Echuca Residents

Boarding dogs and cats can utilise the regular daycare runs provided to the townships of Shepparton and Echuca. The fee is $20/family. Space is subject to availability. Please see our Daycare page for days, locations, times etc. Look for the ‘Doggy Day Out’ Service.

Prices

Pet taxi services are calculated per kilometre. One or more family pets can hop on board (meaning we don’t charge per pet, but per trip). Therefore, per KM:

  • $0.90 – Monday to Friday
  • $1.00 – Saturday
  • $1.10 – Sunday & Before/After Office Hours

Calculating the fare

As a guide, this is how the math works – in this example, we assume that your residence is 42 kilometres from the kennels – we calculate there AND back, so:

Kms (example)Weekday x $0.90Saturday x $1.00Sunday (& After Hours) x $1.00
42 km x 2 = 84km$75.60$84.00$92.40
Example based on an 84km round trip.

Booking the Taxi

Booking a pet taxi is easy – just add it to your booking request. If the taxi is available, we will confirm the arrangements via email, text or telephone. We will discuss this with you if it isn’t available.

The day before the pet taxi service, we will touch base to ensure everything is OK with the arrangements. If you don’t hear from us, feel free to give us a nudge!

Hound Haulers

Another local pet taxi option is via our buddies ‘Hound Haulers‘ – Zac and Matt (based in Nathalia) would be happy to provide a quote if you are stuck. houndhaulers.com.au – info@houndhaulers.com.au or 0493 677 177.
